Writing

My work has appeared in publications including The Boston Globe, McSweeney’s, The Christian Science Monitor, and Salon. I’ve written about modern-day pirates and pregnant belly dancing and how to sailfish. I’ve interviewed poker players and penis puppeteers and asked top chefs what they always have in their freezer (it’s vodka). I was also an entertainment writer, mostly for MSN when they featured journalism, and also for Universal Studios. Here are some links to pieces I’ve written:

Touring Bay State colleges with her 17-year-old, a California mom realizes where his heart lies.

Grab those week-old room-temperature California rolls—they’re gluten-free!

We were both professionals. Now I'm sweeping up popcorn, my husband is selling motorcycles, and our house is on the block.

Ernest Rogers' aerodynamic Volkswagen is a conservationist's dream. But people don't seem to care about that—they like it because it's sexy.

My transmogrification from upper-middle-class soccer Mom to minimum wage Popcorn Betty happened faster than I’d thought.

Various ramblings, musings and more.
